The 2008 season was a smooth transition from the prior year. Having adjusted to the home office being in Germany, the league was able to drive forward with very little changes needed.
The draft day was actually a historic event, with all members of the league 'live and on call'. Since proximity remained a challenge, a conference call was the only way to manage. It did make for a fun event with small gatherings of folks calling in from all over.
As the season progressed, it appeared that is was going to be the Cleveland Hamsterhiders and no one else. The Yankee division was very topsy-turvy until The Whitehall Whiners were able to finally claim the title in Week 14. It was a wise trade early in the season for new stud fullback, Le'Ron McClain, that may have made the difference for the Whiners.
The Superbowl was most intriguing due to the fact that The Bitchmonkeys, a relative unknown during the season, squeaked in from the last Wild Card spot in the Rebel division. More interesting was the fact that earlier in the season, the Bitchmonkeys owner's character was attacked by the Whiners (the Yankee division playoff winner), ultimately leading to the adoption of the "Code of Conduct" rule. In the end the trophy was awarded to a very surprised and happy Bitchmonkey team.
