1994 Season Archive

1994 kicked off the second year of the league, and with it came two new expansion teams. The "original six"; Tad, Roman, Chris, Ben, Rob, and Becky, almost remained intact, but Becky, needing a break from all the testosterone, decided to let an assistant manager run her team for the year. A trusted old friend, Rey, from the Washington DC area, was happy to oblige. The other two new owners were Kevin, a friend from my construction days in Chapel Hill, and the dynamic duo of K.C. & Andrew.

While the rules were basically the same as 1993, the concept of running individual defensive players was introduced. Only two players were chosen, with no regard to the position. This minor change to the rules was well received, and would later grow in magnitude.

Sadly, most of the records for this historic season no longer exist. I had no idea that the league would become such an institution, and I was a bit careless in those days. That said, there remains enough information for a curious trip down memory lane. Ultimately, the person who enjoyed this season the most would be Chris Aubell, as he would become the second name to be etched onto the trophy.
