kicked off the second year of the league, and with it came two new
expansion teams. The "original six"; Tad, Roman, Chris,
Ben, Rob, and Becky, almost remained intact, but Becky, needing a
break from all the testosterone, decided to let an assistant manager
run her team for the year. A trusted old friend, Rey, from the Washington
DC area, was happy to oblige. The other two new owners were Kevin,
a friend from my construction days in Chapel Hill, and the dynamic
duo of K.C. & Andrew.
the rules were basically the same as 1993, the concept of running
individual defensive players was introduced. Only two players were
chosen, with no regard to the position. This minor change to the rules
was well received, and would later grow in magnitude.
most of the records for this historic season no longer exist. I had
no idea that the league would become such an institution, and I was
a bit careless in those days. That said, there remains enough information
for a curious trip down memory lane. Ultimately, the person who enjoyed
this season the most would be Chris Aubell, as he would become the
second name to be etched onto the trophy.
